Main Airport
Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (IATA: NBO, ICAO: HKJK), is an international airport in Nairobi, the capital of and largest city in Kenya. The other three important international airports in Kenya include the Kisumu International Airport, Moi International Airport, and Eldoret International Airport. JKIA is located in the Embakasi suburb 18 kilometers (11 mi) southeast of Nairobi's central business district, the airport has scheduled flights to destinations in over 50 countries. [3] Originally named Embakasi Airport, the airport's name was changed in 1978 to honor Jomo Kenyatta, Kenya's first president, and prime minister. The airport served over 7 million passengers in 2016, making it the seventh busiest airport in passenger traffic on the continent.

Capital City
Nairobi is Kenya’s capital city. In addition to its urban core, the city has Nairobi National Park, a large game reserve known for breeding endangered black rhinos and home to giraffes, zebras, and lions. Next to it is a well-regarded elephant orphanage operated by the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. Nairobi is also often used as a jumping-off point for safari trips elsewhere in Kenya.

Language Spoken
Swahili, a Bantu language, and English are widely spoken as lingua fracas and serve as the two official languages. English was inherited from colonial rule (see British Kenya). Including second-language speakers, there are more speakers of Swahili than English in Kenya.

Currency
The shilling (Swahili: shilingi; abbreviation: Kesha; ISO code: KES) is the currency of Kenya. It is divided into 100 cents.

June, July, August, and September are regarded as the peak season in Kenya, where you can expect to see the “Big Five” across locations such as Amboseli, Lake Nakuru, Samburu, Maasai Mara, Tsavo, Meru, Laikipia, the Aber dares and Mount Kenya.

Low seasons in East Africa include periods from March to June and October to December. The period from March to June generally features more rain, particularly in April and May. These periods offer lower costs and fewer crowds along with beautiful weather.

Temperature

Most places experience average temperatures of 85 °F (29 °C) or more, while annual precipitation is only about 10 inches (250 mm) in the north and less than 20 inches (500 mm) in the south. In most parts of the coast, average temperatures exceed 80 °F (27 °C) and relative humidity is high year-round.
